This was the assessment that was taken during lesson four. Each student did well or was nearly there. For students that scored below a certain threshold, I held an additional support class that they chose to go to and they all had the option to take a revised version of the quiz.
Many of their scores improved that supplemental support class. I enjoyed giving them the opportunity to retry and show their refreshed knowledge yet again. |
This video showcases different points in which I am assisting students with lesson one, where they are all making visual displays of a shape. Every student I interacted with within this video are asking different questions revolving the procedures, understanding, and some guidance about the material we had just gone over. I loved hearing all of their thoughts and mental process surrounding how they got to their thinking.
I mainly use guiding questions and clarifying questions when answering their own questions in response, as I want to get them to think, analyze, and understand how they may have gotten to certain parts of their answers. Giving students a starting point and where they can go from there is also another thing I enjoy doing—they are able to meet me half-way in many of the starting points I offer them as I have noticed many students merely need a push in order to succeed. |
